Great Food, Excellent prices and very friendly staff

You have got to go a long way to find somewhere better. George and his charming wife Apple are very attentive hosts, the food is simply delightful and very reasonably priced. We returned here many nights. This is first class home made food served with loving attention. No trip to Corfu is complete without visitng the Akamatra. Thanks Bro George and Apple. Hope to see you again one day.

Very friendly place, excellent homemade food

I have visited this place with my family. This is a traditional place in Corfu town. It seemed to be very friendly and family-run place. The owner’s two young sons served our food, under the supervision of their mother!!!! You’re so nice and so sweet!!! The place was nice and clean!! This is an old place so modern luxuries are not expected. Hygiene was very high and has been taken seriously!!! I have left the best part of the story for the end. Excellent homemade delicious food. Because it was during the week before Easter with most of us had seafood but some of us also had meat. There are no words to describe the quality of the salad. Every single kind of food that we had was perfect to the detail. The chef wanted to make us happy and he put on his cooking art to that. Price was very reasonable. For this quality of food, the price was excellent value for money. If you want to taste homemade Greek food this place is a "must go

Surprise

Stumbled onto this little place as we walked the lanes of old Corfu waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. Stopped for a wine and for the first time since in Greece we had been given a drinkable wine, it was the house wine and tasted great. Then...... they delivered the customary mezzo plate Omg it was a delight of roasted pork belly with cucumber. So.... we stayed for dinner This place is a family owned alley way hidden quirky gem. A must find. It’s a pleasure to sit in the lane way Enjoy the wonderful ambience Listen to traditional music and eat authentic food.

Great cuisine, authentic atmosphere!

Visit this family owned small restaurant hidden in an alley in the old town of Corfu for a really authentic taste of greek cuisine. The owner is very kind and will meet you as valued guests at his restaurant. Definitely try the home-made fries with herbs, the tsatsiki salad and the pork dish with mustard! You won’t stay disappointed!

Wonderful Greek food with a delicious twist

Akamatra is a true gem, tucked away in one of the side streets of Corfu Town. The atmosphere is homely and full of charm. The owner is a knowledgeable, kindly hospitable and warm host. We could tell from his chats with us about cooking and cuisine--and from the food itself--that he has a lot of passion for what he does. And the food! The owner is a genius at putting together local dishes with a (Thai) twist, and the results are incredibly delicious. The meats were tender and so flavorful, the salads crisp and bursting with mouthwatering tastes. Everything about this place is special; it is a terrific place to patronize for a thoroughly enjoyable local dining experience!

Delicious food and great atmosphere!

Incredibly delicious home made food for affordable prices. The meats and the salads were mind-blowing, the host was very kind and the and the old Greek rembetika music was just perfect!

A truly authentic local place

The most authentic atmosphere and delicious cousine! I enjoyed this place very much and, in fact, have spent several evenings. Don’t mix this place with tourist cafes - it’s local. And here you can taste the local specialities - I particularly enjoyed mezes and home cheese pies. The staff works very hard and the quality of ingredients is very high. Special thanks to Yorgos for making me feel at home. Strongly recommended!
