Nice quiet lunch

Been before. Quite busy. Lovely lunch for two, can't fault it. Nice intimate village square with lots of shade from the heat. Simple polite service.

Blue Chairs

Delicious food with excellent local ingrédients. Friendly staff and a calm set up. I recommend it to all visitors who wish to feel the greek hospitality.

Big Hidden Gem - Wow!

Never write reviews but this was magical. Battling against the steep uphill road was our modest rental car, (Come on Hyundai i10, you can do it!!) , stopping a few times to enjoy the amazing views during golden-hour, to then arrive, luckily in one piece, at the mountain village of Vourliotes. It felt a bit deserted during our visit, but this all changed once we arrived at the Blue Chairs situated on what must be the coziest Greek square ever. The restaurant checks all the the boxes and more; family run for hundreds of years, amazingly fresh foods with local produce, great ambiance, and also the best (dry) white wine we had all week in Samos! The mixed platter and Moussaka was flawless. Probably the best Greek food we ever ate. Period. One of those experiences you want to keep for your own and at the same time share with everyone. So here it is. Skip the Kokkari fish resto’s for a day and drive up to Blue Chairs. You wont be dissapointed.

Amazing! Would recommend everyone

Amazing! Would recommend everyone visiting Samos. Very authentic food and wholesome service. Ask for the greek salad, the onions are great.

Amazing tavern and beautiful village !

So we visited Blue Chairs in Vourliotes the other day with some friends ! We had heard that the village was ok but it wasn’t in our plans to visit it until we had a great lunch in Kallisti and the owner recommended us to go and specifically at the tavern blue chairs ! When we arrived we had a worm welcome and the service was pretty good ! We enjoyed everything we ordered but the most delicious thing we are it was the mixed plate ! I recommend blue chairs and Vourliotes for everyone who wants to have a quality launch !

Great food and welcoming owners

We discovered this fantastic restaurant one lunchtime and then came back in the evening and again later in our holiday. Food was great, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and it was an extremely relaxed place to eat. Would definitely recommend to others.

One of the best choices

Excellent quality of food very tasty and traditional and also their kitchen is super clean. Definitely one of the top choices for traditional food in the island for me as a local.

Excelent food !!!

2019 Update - Still a must visit on my Samos itinerary

I’ve been to Samos 18 summers. This is one of the restaurants I always stop at. I returned again in 2019 and love it every bit as much. It is still owned by the same family. The restaurant is in the square in vourliotes and aptly named, it is the restaurant with the blue chairs. If you sit in any other colored chair it won’t be the same restaurant. My two favorite dishes are the bacon wrapped chicken livers and the oven baked feta. Both are amazing. Vouliotes is definitely off the beaten path. If you like to hike you can get there by walking along the ridge from Manolates. Exit the Manolates beyond Lukas tavern. It is a great hike and you’ll be hungry when you arrive.
