Delfinia

Every year, Delfinia is my only selection when it comes to Kefallonia holidays! As described to different reviews Gerasimos and his wife Regina are fantastic hosts. Always there to help, propose best parts of the island and listen to guests’ needs. This year, they ’ve upgraded rooms with kettle and coffee making facilities and at some of the rooms, they ’ve installed full kitchen equipment (oven and hobs) Stayed in room No7 which is on the top floor and has a fantastic view. Rooms are always clean,tidy and super comfy. Till next year!

the room was spacious, clean, well kept. the kingsize bed was really comfy and we slept well. the view from the room was amazing, we were on the top left floor room 7. Regina had put a bottle of water and orange juice in the fridge for us for when we arrived which was a really nice thought. Kitchen had enough crockery and cutlery for the two of us. we didnt use the little hob as we ate out every night. I suppose a toaster would of been a bonus but we managed well without one as there is a fab bakery just up the road. parking was good and enough for about 7 cars. apartment block was just down a slight slope and it is does have street lights but we also took a torch (its a habit). Nothing was too much trouble for Regina and her husband Makis. the weather was a bit bad for a couple of days due to a medicane and Regina made us all some traditional greek dessert, very yummy and very thoughtful. grounds of apartment block are well kept with olive, lime and pomegranate. there are two tortoises that live on site and the childrens swings looked new. just up on the main road, which you do not hear the traffic or noise from the restaurants, there are plenty of places to eat, 3 supermarkets to buy food and gifts/essentials, 2 cash machines, jewellery shop, car and bike rental and also places where you can use the pool as open to everyone. the walk to the beach is all downhill which is about 15-30 mins depending on how fast you walk, it is by the road and it winds down. There are several bars and restaurants and more supermarkets. along the front you have the beach of Lourdas (Lourdata) with plenty of places to eat. Downside is if you go down, you must go up so I would say depending on how hot, how tired you are would depend on how long it takes you. during peak season there is shuttle bus that goes along the beach and up the hill to main street Vlachata (Vla-hata). if hiring a car from the airport its a good road and takes about 20-30 mins to get there. there was nothing we didnt like apart from leaving. it was all good …

We were delighted with our stay at Delfinia. The owners Makis and Regina gave us a warm welcome going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was large, airy and well equipped making it a comfortable stay. It had a large balcony which overlooked the sea across to Zakynthos. In short it was a breathtaking view, with views of the sun rising and setting or at night the moonlight reflecting in the sea. The property is well located, a 5 minute walk to shops and amenities and 2 good beaches close by which can be reached by foot or catching a local bus. The location is very quiet set in an olive grove that runs to the sea. The prices of the rooms are very reasonable particularly given the outstanding views. We enjoyed staying at Delfinia because it still retains some feeling of 'Greekness' and the hosts Makis and Regina were excellent. We liked it so much we spent an extra night! …
