Best restaurant in the area.

An absolutely lovely dining experience. We were a four for lunch, sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea. Next to last day and had eaten at half a dozen or more restaurants in the Chania/Kissamos district. The food and quality of surroundings, service and ambience were far and away better than anything we had experienced before. I had lamb’s liver, fried beer battered veg and the lamb in filo pastry. Wonderful. My wife had the lamb pie.

Still the best

I came back in 2021, after 6 years... Many have changed, but the place is still the same. The first to notice is the tremendous amount of tourists that visit this place: It’s not a surprise, as this tiny gem, that was back in the old days became a nr 1 recommendation in every tourist guide. But the place somehow managed to cope with this: they nicely expanded, having a top roof floor for the guests in addition, a new toilet, and added tables. The wait time for food was less than an hour, considering the number of visitors, this is indeed a great achievement. There was some mixup with our order ( they understood 1 out of the 2 lamb portions) but they bought the second one in no time. Overall, still a great experience, and one of the best meals in Crete, but honestly, I miss the quiteness of this place...

One of our favorite restaurants in Greece

Excellent fresh and local Mediterranean food, on par with Italy. Nice view from the terrace. The homemade bread is outstanding, we haven't found anything that equalled it since we lived In Rome.

EAT HERE

I will be shocked to hear that you are disappointed in this restaurant. It is by far one of my favorite places for traditional Greek food. They make some of the most amazing lamb you have ever tasted, and no mousaka compares to theirs. You’ll want to try the pies or fried vegetables for an appetizer, and the Cretan salad is a nice sidedish to go with your main course. Seafood lovers will have a lot of delicious options to choose from as well. But leave room for dessert because their chocolate cake and Greek coffee are a must try!

Best restaurant on Crete

Ate here last year, couldn’t wait to come back this year. Ate there twice this time. Fabulous food, great environment, nice staff, beautiful atmosphere and view. Don’t miss going here. Don’t be in a hurrry. There is one pace, enjoy your time here. We recommend their Gramvousa lamb in a pie shell, their moussaka is the best (trust us we’ve been all over Crete), and really everything on the menu is excellent.

Great discovery

We were in a hotel very close to this pretty restaurant so we decided to have dinner there in our last night in Balos. We ordered feta cheese grilled, pork with honey and a delicious moussaka. At the end we were offered fruit and raki. This is a really good option to taste traditional cretan cuisine coming from Balos beach.
