Iliada Hotel

We found a deal for beginning of October for 10 days, so decided to visit Santorini a first time. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised from the hotel, rooms, patio in front of each room, and of course, the beach, and all the restaurants we’ve got on the beach. Rooms, quite bigger than I expected, king size bed, enough for not 2 but 3 people, and very comfortable. There was helpfull notes printed out and left for us, including that the water is not drinkable, but I learnt that in the hard way, as we arrived late, I just toped up my waterbottle, but with first sip I found that the water is salty :D The patio was really nice, we were having our morning coffee there, there was table and 2 comfy chairs. As others mentioned, there was only 2 cups, 2 glasses and 1 spoon, but when we bought a waremellon from the shop they borowed us a knife, so anything you need you can ask, all the staff was verry helpfull. As we were waking up not so early, and having a coffee on the patio, then leaving for the beach the maid that were cleaning the rooms, were doing all rooms around ours and leaving ours last, so not disturb us, when we are still there, very polite woman, so not sure why some of the previous reviews are saying they are not talking or smiling, the woman did say good morning with a smile every time passing around. We didnt use the pools, as the beach was literally 2 mins walk, its black sandy beach with sun loungers and umbrellas, so we were happy to sunbathing there. The pools looked good, clean. On the beach, we found so many restaurants, and big choice of food. Although it was beginning of October, and the season was ending, we still had plenty of restaurants to choose from. It wasn't crowded, so we could find place to eat or drink easily. As we like to walk, on the beach aley its about an hour to Perissa, but there are busses as well, stopping 1 min from the hotel, they are going to Thira as well.
