Royal Myconian

We stayed at the Royal Myconian for 5 nights, chosen by our travel agent as one of the ‘leading hotel groups of the world’ it is set at Elia beach which is a very quiet area with not a lot to do which we were worried about but the hotel had regular free shuttle buses to and from Mykonos town which was great so no more worries in that area. The hotel is stunning, lots of quirky area and ornamental features, beautiful art, lighting with indoor and outdoor places to eat and drink. There are many onsite shops with a lovely spa and small gym. Good sized pool with the best sunbeds ever, very thick and comfortable, pool bar and can eat and drink around the pool too. Amazing views which are very different on all the separate levels and you get a gorgeous sunset. The only downside is that although the floors have little fairy lights embedded in them which are beautiful and pretty the lighting is poor and we both had little slips as couldn’t see the steps very well. There is also an outdoor Jacuzzi and another small children’s pool/Jacuzzi which are cold, with the main pool being cold too we did not get the chance in September to enjoy them as not warm enough to use for us as uncomfortable, I would have expected the Jacuzzi, which is lovely and big, to be warm all year round. This hotel has its own area on the beach as does the other hotels, you can see which is which as each section has different sunbeds (which are free) and brolly’s, there is beach service for food and drink and the sea is lovely and clear. We were given room 145 which was down 2 flights of stairs from the pool, restaurant and spa area. The breakfast area was another level higher with reception, bar and lounge area another level higher than that, as you can imagine this hotel is on various levels with lifts to most but not all. The room was a great size comfy bed but was two twins put together so couldn’t sleep in the middle, small terrace area with table and 2 chairs and good sea and beach views. Storage was plentiful; bathroom area within the living room separated by bamboo and curtain screen which we liked and was quirky, separate large shower and separate toilet, good bathroom lighting and plenty of mirrors, impressed with the Molton Brown toiletries. Plenty of towels replaced constantly, free water daily but no other drinks at all in mini bar, good aircon and large TV however only news channels, no music channels and no speaker dock to attach phone to. No Coffee machine or kettle etc. either but apparently this is a covid rule although not sure why? Overall the room and amenities in there was fab. The breakfast area and food was excellent, so much choice! Can any have sort of coffee/tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, prosecco if you want it. The main restaurant was lovely but we felt the choice of foods wasn’t great for us and limited so only ate there twice. 30 mins from Mykonos town. Staff friendly and helpful, the Hotel is beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would stay again if visited Mykonos, Overall score 9/10. …

We have booked the Royal Myconian for a spontaneous vacation. The check in to the resort was ok and the staff was super friendly. Our first room had an outstanding view however it was equipped with interconnecting doors, I’m not really a fan of that. Having said that it was simple and easy to Chance the room which was even nicer than the one before. Panos, the Rooms Division Manager, did a great job along with his team to be of our service and Organise private transfers to different venues. Also I have to thank George, from the Pool Bar, who took care for us during our stay. Drinks where ready the minute we took a seat. He did a great job interacting with us and creating great cocktails. We would certainly be back for another vacation in this great hotel. Thank a lot to the entire team and all the staff I may forgot to mention. …

From the moment we arrived at the Royal Myconian we were made to feel extremely welcome by the staff and this continued the whole of our stay. Every single member of staff were extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful towards us which is a key reason as to why I would return to this hotel. Between the 4 of us, we had 2 rooms both of which were extremely different (the layout) and this is something we all found quite impressive and unique. Both rooms had a fantastic sea view which is an amazing feature to have. The rooms were very clean and we had no issues with them throughout the week. The food and drink the hotel was fairly expensive, however the portion sizes of the food and the measurements of alcohol in the drinks were very generous which made the prices acceptable. The breakfast was a great selection and there was something for everyone. Due to the incredible views at the Royal Myconian, there were many steps to walk up and down to get to the beach and back to the hotel. However, this was not an issue as there’s a free shuttle bus that runs frequently up and down the hill to the beach. There is also a free bus into town which we used several times! All in all we had an amazing time at this resort and loved using the facilities (especially the pool bar and sunset bar!!). Would highly recommend and would definitely return. …

The staff, room and amenities at the hotel were excellent. Unfortunately I tested positive with Covid soon after arrival and and I had to isolate in my room for 10 days (extending my original plans). The hotel arranged for a Doctor to see me and also had the prescribed medications delivered. I also had daily courtesy phone calls from the manager checking on my health. The friendly and helpful regular food & linen drops outside my door were all excellent. I can’t thank the manager and the staff enough for the the care they took and I’m only sorry I didn’t get to use all the amazing facilities.
