To Koutouki Tou Kallinikou, Athens

Five people order some meat dishes to share and everything was perfect. Also the salad and the starters was very special. I have to add that the stuff was very polite and the service was fast and accurate.

We arrived at about 9 on a Thursday night, looking for somewhere to eat. A couple of ladies we’d asked for directions had recommended it - and we’re so glad we took their advice. A huge bowl of salad to share, courgette fries, mushrooms with cheese and bacon, and a plate of dolmades were enough for two - and an extra plate dish would have been enough for three. The staff were friendly, efficient, and happy to help - fetching another member of staff to help when they couldn’t explain in English, when really we should have been trying to speak in Greek instead. We were given an English menu and assured it wasn’t a problem that we didn’t speak Greek. I really wish we’d made the effort to speak in Greek though. We were also really impressed that the menu clearly states where food is frozen - and that the prices are so reasonable. The choice of wine is limited to red or white, 1 litre or 1/2 a litre - which I’ve never seen before - and a lovely contrast to restaurants in the UK who make their profits from the marking up the wine. I would heartily reccomend this place - a lovely little gem of a place. And the courgette fries and the yoghurt they came with were utterly delicious.

the food is very good and a good price. it's definitely not a tourist place...but local athenians, no view but good food!

A friend took us there. We had an excellent lunch with tzatziki, lamb chops, the best fried zucchini I've had in years and an excellent white house wine. A real find!
