About us

Rock cafe/bar in rural village location in the valley of Vathis. The bar is in an old family house renovated to reflect Kalymnian traditions. Outside is a wonderful garden with tables shaded by citrus trees. Enjoy beers, wines and a vast selection of spirits whilst listening to all kinds of rock and jazz music. Bar food available. In summer live music events in the gardens with barbecue.All year.

Best alternative place of Kalymnos

My first time visit to Kalymnos. Glad I found this place and it's unique host Stamatis. Go there if you want something different than just a tourist attraction.

Unusual rural rock bar

We got a warm welcome from the host of this delightfully quirky and rustic rock bar. The setting is rural, definitely off the beaten track. The snug indoor bar area is traditional, decorated with artefacts from the past. The outside garden in an orange grove has lovely shady seating areas and as well as other friendly guests, we encountered several equally friendly kittens, dogs and chickens. The host plays an eclectic mix of rock, blues, latin and jazz and he cooks up great bar food to order. Beer and wine quenched our thirst and we enjoyed the complementary bourbons. We also caught some live rock and latin music evenings - magical!

Music Bar Far From The Madding Crowd

This is a tiny bar with a large outside seating area that is usually only open in the evening. The owner loves classic rock, blues and jazz and plays it loud. He also hosts occasional live music sessions. It is too far up the valley to be on the itinerary for tourists off the cruise boats visiting Rina and mostly attracts the locals and ex-pats. Worth seeking out for a rocking good evening.
