Varaba Country House

My wife and I stayed here for just one night as we were departing Athens after a two week trip throughout Greece. The room and the grounds were way more than we expected. Very near the airport but you are surrounded by pistachio trees, grape vines and olive groves. The room was very large and clean as was the bathroom. Decorated in somewhat of a sparse manner but nevertheless it was perfect after a long trip from far western Peleponeese earlier in the day. We walked the grounds with a couple of glasses and a bottle of local wine. There is a 12th century church a few yards away from the property which is tiny but beautiful. We would certainly recommend this place as it is as beautiful as it is affordable. We had a pleasant dinner and breakfast as well which is of extra charge. Host was very kind and helpful. …

Una pasada. La atención, la decoración , las habitaciones, pero creo que todo es gracias a la dueña que además lo hace todo. Además nos quedamos a cenar que estaba de fábula, buenísimo y economismo. Las habitaciones todas tienen un toque especial. Su olor es súper agradable. Y además conocimos a su perro Bruno. Es súper simpático y es la guinda del pastel.

We had an somewhat early flight and decided to arrive at Varaba country house the afternoon before, whats nicer to just arrive sit down and be pampered; drinks, food all in one place. Amazing quiet place for being so close to the airport. Fields of pistachtrees and winevines and the petit little greek church are your neighbours. Rooms are beautifully decorated and have airconditioning. The host goes above and beyond. In 5min drive you are at a subway station that will take you into Athens in 40min. We will def return!

HIGHLY recommend a stay here. I only wish we had stayed 2 nights rather than 1. Very close to Athens Int’l so it was convenient for our very early morning flight. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet, and lovely. We were warmly welcomed with afternoon wine then enjoyed a tranquil stroll through the countryside filled with vineyard, olive groves, and a quaint church. We chose to have dinner at the Country House and it was amazing. Traditional Greek starters and salad, stuffed peppers then melon and Greek yogurt for dessert. Wine too. The hotel also arranged for a car/driver to retrieve us from the train station and then tamer us to the airport the next morning despite the early hour (4am). Terrific place!
